How to pin your favorite sites to your Windows Phone start screen plus free app credits

in How to

For all of my fellow Windows Phone users and fans out there, today I am sharing a super easy tip. Do you visit a certain site often on your phone? If so, just pin it directly to your start screen for super fast access. Here is a quick step-by-step guide on how to do just that. Plus, I am also sharing how Nokia users can get a free Microsoft Phone Store app credit for free! A reminder that I am part of the #VZWBuzz Lifestyle Bloggers who provided me the Nokia Lumia Icon and I am part of the Windows Champions team as well. Opinions are always my own.

Step One Open Internet Explorer on your Windows Phone, I use a Nokia Lumia Icon, and go to the site you want to pin. In my example I went to my own blog. At the bottom of the screen, to the right of the address bar, you will see an ellipse (also known as the three dots). Press that ellipse.

Step Two Once you press the ellipse, a menu will pop up. From that menu, click on “pin to start”. You may have to scroll a bit to see that – it just depends on your device.

Step Three Now your phone will create the pin and place it directly on the start menu of your Windows Phone at the bottom. You can see the arrow below pointing to the pin it just made for me. You can then resize the tile if you like or move it anywhere on your screen that you like. Make as many of these as you like!

I told you it was super easy!

Free Windows Phone App Store Credit

I was updating my apps last night and “Gift Voucher” (by Nokia) popped up. If you bought a new Nokia Windows Phone recently (qualifying devices) and get this you can get a free app store credit. You use it with the Windows Wallet app. It was very simple to claim the voucher – the details are spelled out once you open the app. My credit was for $25.00! That is a lot of Windows Phone apps!

Did you know about pinning sites to your Windows Phone Start Screen? What sites have you (or would you) pin? Are you eligible for the free app store credit?
